Xeomin
This is another botulinum toxin type A product but made without allergens. This might make Xeomin a slightly better option for those who are prone to allergies or are more sensitive. It lasts slightly less time than Botox, which lasts for around five months; this one will start to wear off after about four months. Xeomin does, however, provide results faster, with many patients noticing fewer wrinkles after as little as a day! It is particularly effective when used around the forehead and eyes.
Others
A variety of alternative products, such as Dysport and Jeuveau, can also be requested from any of our offices across the USA: Fredericksburg, VA, Greenville, SC, and Glen Allen, VA. These neurotoxins work similarly to those mentioned above but might have some differences in where they’re made, what ingredients they contain, and how much they cost. During an initial consultation, we will talk you through your options and help you make an informed decision about which treatment will work best for you.
Why Do I Struggle With Dynamic Wrinkles?
Dynamic wrinkles refer to the wrinkles that form on the skin as a result of muscle movement. These are different from static wrinkles, which are present even when the face is at rest. Over time, however, dynamic wrinkles can become static wrinkles if the muscles continue to contract in the same way. This is why it’s important to treat dynamic wrinkles early on before they have a chance to become etched into the skin.
What Will My Treatment Be Like?
An Initial Consultation
You will first come for a chat with a member of our highly trained staff. We will assess your facial muscles and skin condition. We’ll also ask about your medical history and any medications you’re taking. all this helps us ensure you’re in the right condition for these kinds of treatments. You can also talk us through your cosmetic goals and ask any questions about treatment. If everything looks good, we will work together to decide which specific treatment might work best for you.
Preparing for Treatment
There are a few things you can do to prepare for your skin ahead of your injections. First, avoid taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medications for two weeks before the injection, as they can increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site. It’s also important to clean the injection site thoroughly with soap and water before your appointment. Finally, be sure to follow any instructions from your doctor or provider regarding pre-treatment for your injections.
Your Appointment
We perform these anti-aging treatments in-house across all our locations. We will begin by cleaning your skin with an antiseptic, then applying a topical numbing cream to the areas we’ll be treating. This is to ensure your absolute comfort throughout. We will then administer the injections using a very fine needle. The entire process usually takes less than 30 minutes. Afterward, you will be able to leave immediately. We’re also proud to offer the Alle rewards program, meaning you can earn points during your session.
Is There a Recovery Period Needed Afterward?
Incredibly, there is no recovery period or downtime needed after the treatment. This is why many people prefer minimally-invasive treatments to these over surgeries that require weeks of bed rest. You can resume your normal activities immediately afterward, heading back to work or carrying on running errands. We may advise against a few things that could lead to aggravating the skin, such as spending time in harsh sunlight or extreme heat, but this will only be for a few days.
How Can I Make the Results of My Treatment Last Longer?
While both Botox and Xeomin last for about four months, there are a few things you can do to help prolong the effects of your treatments, however. Keep taking good care of your skin, eat well and get plenty of nutrients, and exercise regularly to promote blood flow. In the first 24 hours after your injections, we also recommend avoiding rubbing or massaging the treated area, as this will help prevent the product from migrating to other muscles and weakening its overall efficacy.
